Florian Kuhlmann
STUDIO VISIT
In his artistic work, which is always also exploratory, Florian Kuhlmann deals with the effects of digital technology on art production and creation. His work focuses, among other things, on copies, originals and the lossless reproducibility of immaterial artefacts that has become commonplace.
As early as the mid-1990s, he had developed ideas and concepts for dealing with speculation, distribution and immateriality in the context of his work, which are now receiving widespread attention in the context of the NFT debates.
In his lecture, he uses the example of his own artistic practice to show possible new ways of productive artistic use of digital technology and distribution mechanisms.
Düsseldorf-based Florian Kuhlmann has been working as an artist, programmer and digital transformation consultant for almost 20 years.
