100 YEARS OF THE PRESENT

Taking as its titled 100 Years of the Present in 2022 the very first publication will come out on the history of exhibitions at Museum Folkwang in Essen. Essays of profound scholarship that are lavishly illustrated will present some 40 of the major exhibition projects in the history of the museum, drawing in the process on new findings from the archives. The book outlines and visualizes the persistent high standard of curatorial activity at the museum in terms of the innovation and creativity, authenticity and intensity of artistic output.

The lavish illustrations bring together sample views of the exhibitions, selected works from the genres of painting, photography, video, sculpture and posters as well as historical photographs, and rare documents from the Museum Folkwang “machine room”.
