Drawing as a soliloquy: With the exhibition From Drawing to Film, the Museum Folkwang pays tribute to Federico Fellini's drawing

From 12 November 2021 to 20 February 2022, the Museum Folkwang will present drawings by Federico Fellini (1920-1993) that have rarely or never been shown in public in the exhibition From Drawing to Film. Around 220 drawings by the filmmaker and screenwriter are juxtaposed with the realised film scenes in film stills and excerpts, script extracts and film posters. This provides insights into Fellini's creative working process and illustrates the importance of the drawings for his filmmaking. This is the first time in around 30 years that Fellini's works on paper have been shown on a large scale in Germany.
